No Luck Girl

Yesterday Chris and I went to his college’s library to study (I wish I would have got a picture of the two of us. However, this is a pic of the library we were at). It was completely silent, and there is just something about silence that forces you to get done what you need to get done. All in all it was an extremely productive day. When we were finished studying I asked Chris if he could check out the book Gone Girl for me. I’ve heard it’s a great read, anyway we found the call number and went searching for this book, but it was nowhere to be found. We finely asked a girl at the front desk, and she told us “that book shows up as missing in the library’s system, but you can go and buy it at the schools book store.” I thank her for looking into it. However, in my head I’m thinking “sure no problem, I can check it out for free, but since you don’t have it, I’ll just go buy it, NOT”. It’s not that I never buy books, it’s that I was at the library and wasn’t in the market to buy a book! Oh well, I still have my school’s library to hunt down Gone Girl. What books are you reading right now? Have you ever read The Best Worst Christmas Pageant Ever, it’s a great Christmas story for the whole family to read. I hope you have a wonderful upcoming week!

Cherish Your Time

Happy December 1st; can you believe it?! I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving. Chris and I had a wonderful and relaxing time. I will say, “as hard as it has been to be broke college students, there is something so special and sweet about our breaks from school.” Maybe it’s the relief from not having to do homework, maybe it’s that we know we can sleep in (even though we didn’t and on Thanksgiving our little doggie woke us at 6:30am), most likely our breaks are so wonderful because, as Chris and I get older, we are realizing just how precious the gift of time is. Here are a few pictures from our Thanksgiving…

(If you were wondering, yes everything was vegan)

Oh, and if you were  thinking “what a weird green shirt.) FYI it’s my cooking apron 🙂 but I’m sure you already knew that and didn’t really  need my explanation.

Have An Uplifting Little Weekend

Posted by on Nov 21, 2014 in Fashion & Popular Products, Life & Adventures | 0 comments

Happy Friday Turnips! What are your plans for this weekend? I’m going to Cheese Cake Factory for dinner and afterwords to see the opening night of the Nutcracker Ballet, Just kidding!!! I wish that was what I was doing, someday but not today. Life is going well for Chris and I, as we can see an end to this current semester. We may be flat out broke, but we have so much more the a lot of people in this wold. I also know that this time in our lives is just a season, and knowing that alone gives me hope and encouragement. I like to say “I’m on a journey with Jesus!” (My first book title???) I hope and pray that no matter what your current situation may be, good or bad that you have hope and encouragement. Have a uplifting little weekend and here are some fun links from around the web…

Real Love…

Posted by on Nov 17, 2014 in Health & Food, Life & Adventures | 0 comments

Hey there Turnips, I hope you are having a good start to your week so far! I have sadly come the conclusion that I am allergic to quinoa. I started reacting funny to it this summer, and it has gotten to the point where I think it’s trying to put me in an early grave. I can’t believe that it has taken me this long to realize what was going on, that my body can’t process it correctly. I guess it’s back to rice for me, which is not a substitute for quinoa! Anyway, that’s my bummed out news. Oh and last week I gave you a link that said “real love is a choice” it was an article my sister sent me; it wasn’t working so here it is again.
