Hungry Eyes

One look at you and I can’t disguise…. You know that song form “Dirty Dancing?” Na I’m not going to  talk about the movie “Dirty Dancing.” However, I did want to share a beauty must with you. And that is how to make your eyeshadow last all day long, seriously! It’s a product called Paint Pot by MAC Makeup. If you apply it to your eyelids and then put your eyeshadow on top of the Paint Pot product, your eye makeup will look like you just applied it, all day long. It comes in a jar, and is somewhat pricey ($18.50 on line), but it last me about 2 years (so worth it, to have eyeshadow that lasts all day). I use the color “Painterly” because it is very natural, and I can put any color of eyeshadow on top of it. You can apply it with your fingertip or a makeup brush. I like to use the 217 Blending Brush from MAC, but that’s just me. Hope you enjoy this makeup tip, it was a “game changer” for me!

Splendid Sconces and Lovely Lighting

Lets talk a little decorating today! I found some “splendid sconces” at Ross and I could not believe how reasonably priced they were. I bought two big ones that came as a set, for $10! You should cheek out T.J.Maxx and Marshalls as well. I would shop at both places, but we have no T.JMaxx or Marhalls on the island (big bummer)! Next on the agenda is “lovely lighting” I bought two vanilla, flameless, wax candles that have a timer! It’s the little things that make me happy. They don’t give off as strong of a sent as regular candles would, but when I walk by I can smell the vanilla goodness. They have a 4 hour timer and go on and off on their own every night. Now I have to tell you, for a while there I did not realize they had a handy dandy little timer on them. So I was taking them on and off the sconces every day. Then the sconces would sit crooked on the wall, after I would take to candle down to switch it on, and then I’d have to readjust them. So can I get a hallelujah for the timer!!! I got my flameless wax candles from Target, but you can find a variety of them on the internet or maybe even at Hobby Lobby. The candles are a little pricey. At least the ones I found at Target and remember I’m paying Hawaii prices too. However, I figure in the long run, it ends up being more cost effective than buying new candles every time they burn out. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good old fashioned candle, but for the sconces it makes it much easier and less messy to have the flameless.

The flameless candles give off a decent amount of light
See no flame, not a real one at least
